More tweaks on the two column layout. In addition to using multiple columns to pull the comments up alongside the original posting, I can use the second column for a single prominent ad and a few navigational tools.
This gives the ad a persistent spot on the page in a location that doesn't compete with the content, but maintains a certain amount of weight and commands some attention in so far as there is a little animation involved without it actually competing with the content.
