Denial - I can't believe they would have built it like that!
Anger - What! They're complete morons! No-one in their right mind would program it like that! It's O(n^3)!
Bargaining - Maybe we can use a simple patch to the existing systems to adapt to them....
Depression - There's no point, we might as well hire 1000 monkeys to type in random parameters and just filter out the correct ones!
Acceptance - Throw more hardware at it! Double the system requirements! Moore's law is on our side! Here's a perl script to act as a sanity wrapper around their functionality.

What's mostly hanppeing in the Python world is that people who are deploying apps are mostly ignoring Python 3. Python 2.6 is still supported, and 2.7 is coming soon. The overall plan, as I understand it, is to have both Pytohn 2.x and 3.x out there for several years, with people slowly moving to 3.x without feeling pressured.
